More Tips! + SUPER AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hey Everypony, sorry there was no toy review last Saturday, but more on that later! Since I didn't want to waste a blog post on just one little (but awesome!) announcement, I decided to give you collectors who are just starting out some more tips!
This weeks topic: DISPLAYS!
No matter if your collecting Dr. Who or Ponies, they both have one thing in common, they lack Playability (This is now a word.)! With Ponies, unless you decide to go all out on hair styling, ponies don't DO much. All the articulation your going to get out of most of them is the neck. Dr. Who merch, already being sold mainly to adults, is almost entirely display pieces, with most articulation geared towards posing. This makes display absolutely crucial! So, on to the tips!
1. Find a Display area! - This one is complex, so lets break it down into subtips!
> Lighting! Lighting should complement your pieces, and make them stand out!
> View! Whats the point of collecting something if you don't show it off! Place it centrally!
Make it draw the eye! You cant go wrong! (I lied, you can.)
> Keep out of reach of children, pets, mole people! Not much to say about this one.
Just make sure your stuff is safe. A ruined piece is never fun. :(

2. DUST! DUST! AHHHHHH DUST! - Dust is your worse enemy. If you use open shelving, dust is going to be a major concern. The amount of dust depends on a number of factors, so some people are going to have more trouble than others. Just be prepared to clean often.

3. Shelving! - If you have the space and wish to invest in your collections all around health and beauty, nothing beats a good shelving unit! Open shelves are cheap to buy and easy to build, but if you have the cash, don't be afraid to invest in closed glass shelves. Not only will it cut down on dust, but some of the lighting options you can implement are incredible!

Those are the tips I had for you, but your likely going "GET TO THIS AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENT OF YOURS"! So I will. Right now in fact! After a couple tries of writing a text and picture review, I've decided that that not going to work out at all. Instead, I will be doing video reviews which I will post to Youtube and subsequently embed here! Not only will this cut down on the length of my posts, I feel it will provide a much more entertaining and informative experience for you, our viewers/readers/mole people!

If i had a hammer, i would trade it for some ponies.

It's surprisingly hard to write when you dont have a topic in mind. In those dire times when im trying to put a pen to paper (or keys to a keyboard) i usually get a drink, apin around in my wheelie office chair and then think of something.

Is mayonaise a writting topic?

Ah, well. That Answers two questions.

Today is 9/14/2011! I am your host John Bon Pony, and with me is my imaginary associate Carlos to help. Say hello Carlos!
...
...
no...what... no, Carlos, stop pushing buttons... no. stop!

Goddammit Carlos! You just posted todays first video way sooner then i planned! Go sit in the corner!

Damnit... Well, since Carlos here has no manners and decided to post the video way before i was ready, i guess we have to talk about it now. The above video is a PMV by
who made several videos based on the various Polka songs from Weird Al. All of them are good so you should definatly check them out.

Ok Carlos you can come out if you promise to... no! Stop it! stop no don't press that!

Ok, Carlos, youve lost your finger privlages for the day...

Ok so this one is NSFW, if only because there is alot of swearng. BUT! if you remember your SNL, you will recognize the music as the famous "Like a Boss" sketch.

Ok, gross, i have fingers all over my desk now, i better clean this up but not before we end today's post with a little derpy derpa derp derp derp. (No, i didnt not just have a stroke mid sentence...)

Until next time! Muffins, away!

So very very tired.

I have been just exhausted today. Luckily i had set this mornings post on auto update so i didnt have to worry about it. Yay for planning ahead.  I hope everyone is having a great day and if not, here is a little something something.

GASP! Due to a error on my part, JBP, I didnt set the timer on this post and it didnt go up. So sorry for all of you who were waiting for your Who's Day post, but be happy, its here now!

Guess who learned that YES it is possible to be drunk one night, sleep for 14 or so hours, and still be drunk when you wake up? I did! yay for learning!

A big round of hoof-plause to our Peggasister who filled in for me so i could be ready for Today's Who'sday post. If this were the army she would get a medal, but sadly i don't have anymore medals, because a homeless guy stole them.

Fuck him

Yay! Copious amounts of swearing can only mean that i am feeling much better today, and that the smell of vodka has indeed left the room. Anyways, Today is Who'sday, and that means i have to put on my Doctor who hat and present you all with Who-tatsticle Who-wonders from across time and space. Alons-y!

Our first video shows us all the Doctors, both near and dear, starting with Doctor one, and ending with our current doctor, Matt Smith. I warn you, if you are still emotionally fragile from David Tennant leaving, you WILL cry as this video includes his famous "I-don't-want-to-go" Line. Oh god i made my self sad.

I love you david....

Next up! Another video, another montage, this time featuring all the theme songs. I love this video oh so much, as its like one endless loop of pure happiness. Feel free to sing along, i know i always do.

I love you, giant exploding space fireball...

And lastly, i leave you all with this:

Stop cheering robin, that jackass just stole our ride...

Shock Treatment

Who has a hangover? Not me! I don't drink! So, since John Bon Pony had a hangover, I'll do some updating. So, today's supposed to be a recap day? Why must we recap? If you read the blog, you would know what happened right? Well, there is ONE thing that I wanna recap. It was John Bon Pony's 21st birthday! Which explains the hangover yes? WOO!

So yes, there is that. Another recap: the introduction of Ponytoyguy! I can't tell you how awesome it is that we can have our very own toy reviewer. Especially one that is so dedicated to collecting. Trust me, I've been to his house. It's covered in collections. His most recent collection has, of course, been My Little Pony: FiM! I got my two ponies, Pinkie Pie and Applejack from him. Isn't he the nicest guy ever? So, expect great advice and reviews when ever he posts.

Hmm... What else? I'm not really sure what's happening this week. I know I'm almost done editing the first chapter of John Bon Pony's Flutterwho, but other than that, I don't know. I only think in terms of what's happening in my classes. Wanna hear about Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice or the way poor Black women were oppressed during Hurricane Katrina? Didn't think so.

So, my little ponies, I leave you with some parting gifts because this post was so boring. :D

John Bon Pony shared this with me today and I loved it:

And this is from me:

Ouch... is what i would say if i got hangovers

Spike represents the audience.

OH MY GOD... where have i been this weekend? Easy, ive been drunk. Dont believe me? heres a picture of the trafic cone i stole. Yup... Thought it was a good idea. Even named him to. But thats beside the point. Its sunday, the resting day. And i rested all damn day. I just now woke up, its 6:12pm here, and im mad as hell that i wasted so much of my day.

Next week, tomorrow, i will start hammering out a dedicated update cycle, so that everyone knows when to expect me to update.

in other news we came really really close to breaking 100 page views in our first week, which is awesome, i love you guys. i know i said if we hit one hundred, i would post something special, but, seeing as we came super close, im going to do a special piece of art for this blog, on my tablet! look for it soon!

so again, thank you all for hanging around, you have made this a great start and i hope to have a great future. PEACE OUT BRONIES!
